About Abby Barberio

Abby was born and raised in Orlando Florida where she started dancing at the age of 4. She instantly fell in love with performing and that spark has remained. In her early stages of training, she had the opportunity to train with industry professionals including Jakob Karr, Chase Hudson, Carly Gallup, and Grace Buckley, who inspired her to pursue a professional career in dance. She continued her education at Point Park University where she received her BFA in Dance with a concentration in jazz as well as a minor in photography. In her time at Point Park, she has gotten the chance to work with incredible faculty and guest artists. She has performed in works by Christopher Huggins, Crystal Frazier, and Kiki Lucas. Her passion not only is rooted in performance but also in teaching the younger generation of dancers. To fulfill her desire to teach, she began working for Varsity Spirit as a UDA instructor in 2020. Throughout her time with UDA, she has been able to travel the country teaching at summer camps, assisted master classes from incredible choreographers including 20-year Rockette, Stacy Paydo, and been able to run and facilitate camp activities after furthering her role on UDA staff to be a Head Instructor. Upon her relocation to Atlanta she is ecstatic to perform as G-League NBA Dancer with the South Side Crew and she hopes to inspire those around her to follow their passions in her teaching endeavors.
